Spring is coming!

Circle Time:  Spring starts this week, but by the weather, you would never know it.  We made a list of things that will be changing once spring begins.  The children were excited about the fact that they won't have to wear coats once the weather gets warmer and that we will be able to go outside more often.
We are learning about the letter M this week.

Story:  I Will Keep You Safe and Sound a picture book of mother and baby animals.  We talked about the fact that most baby animals are born in the spring so that they will have warm weather in which to grow.  After the story, we looked at the Alcoa eagle cam.  The eggs have hatched and the mother or father was sitting on the eaglets to keep them warm until they can grow feathers.

Small Group:  We  worked on identifying letter sounds with a picture game.  The children had to pick a card, say the name of the picture and decide which letter basket to put it in.

Art:  We told the children that we would be having an egg hunt during Thursday's Spring Party.  So we made a basket with which to carry our eggs.  The children had to cut, glue, assemble and add stickers to the basket.

Snacks:  The morning class had krispie treats and juice brought by Ryan.  The afternoon class had Cheez-its and juice brought by Myla.  Thank you!

Tomorrow, we will be having Show and Tell!
