Circle Time: We took a last look at the letter Q and prepared to do our workbook page. We traced four letter Q's and colored a quilt.
Story: We have been singing the song "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly". Perhaps you remember this song/book. There is a Christmas book version titled There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell. Instead of animals, she is swallowing Christmas items. At the end, she whistles them back out for Santa.
Group Time: We played a large group, gross motor game called Garbage. The children are divided into two groups and are placed on opposite sides of the room. Each side is given 6 sponge balls and we pretend that they are garbage. You don't want to have garbage on your side of the room, so you throw it over to the other side. Of course, they don't want the garbage either, so the other side is throwing it back to you. Occasionally, we would stop and count the garbage to see who had the least amount. Then we played all over again. Fun!
We played outside again today in our outdoor classroom. Now that the weather is changing, we know that we probably won't get outside as often as we had been. Our plan is to try to get out every Thursday. So please dress warmly on Thursdays. Unless the weather is wet, snowy, or extremely cold, we will be going outside.
Snacks: The morning class had Teddy Grahams brought by Russell. The afternoon class had applesauce brought by Alexa. Thank you!
