We're back...

It was nice to have a few days off, but just as nice to get back to school.  We will be doing some more activities with our grocery store and next week will get into the holiday spirit.

Circle Time:  Our letter this week is O.  Magic C bunny helped us remember to make the curve under the smiley face so that we are making the O in the right direction.  We also took a few minutes to see if we could remember what we had learned at the Food Pantry.  We didn't get the chance to discuss it much last week with all of our Thanksgiving activities.  I will print up a list of all of the things that the children told me that they had learned and send it home soon.

Story:  Shopping With Dad is the story of a little girl who goes grocery shopping with her dad.  They have a list of items to get but something causes a problem in the store.  See if your child can tell you what happened and how the problem was solved.

Small Groups:  We practice making circles in our Handwriting Without Tears workbook today.  Circles can be made into cats, bunnies, bears, etc.

After reading our story today, we wanted the children try to make a pyramid like the store clerk made in the grocery store.  We didn't have cans, so we gave the children plastic cups to use.  This activity helped the children learn to work together and to keep trying when things didn't go exactly the way that they wanted it to.

Art:  We did finger painting with glitter paint.  The red glitter paint stained some of their hands a little.  Sorry, it should wash off or wear off soon!

Snacks:  The morning class had Goldfish brought by Ava.  The afternoon class had apples and peanut butter brought by Richie.  Thank you!
