Owls

Circle Time:  We learned a little about owls today.   We had a non-fiction book that gave us a few facts about owls. Ask your child to name one thing that they know about owls.  Tomorrow will be our day to make an O list.  I wonder how many words we will be able to add to our list.

Story:  Owl Babies is a cute story about 3 baby owls that live in a tree with their mother.  One night, the mother flies away to find food for them.  The babies are worried.  Sarah and Percy are sure she will come back, but Bill keeps repeating ______________.  I'm sure that your child will be able to tell you what he said.

Small Groups:  Following our story, we made a picture of a baby owl from the book.  The children had to shape the owl body and glue the items on to make the picture complete.  It was a good lesson on following directions.

Snacks:  The morning class had Grab-its brought by Sunny and the afternoon class had Go-gurt brought by Haley.  The afternoon class had an extra treat which was brought to us all the way from Mexico.  Alexa spent last week in Mexico visiting her grandparents.  She brought home Mexican cookies for us to try.  Yum!  Thank you!

We want to send a big HELLO to Jayla who has been absent during the past week recovering from tonsil surgery.  We hope she can come back soon!
