O O O my!

Circle time:  We made a list of O words.  We opened the O container and found an ostrich, otter, olive, overalls, and octopus.  We also added a few words of our own.

Story:  Put it on the List  is the story of a family that needs to make a grocery list in order to remember everything that they need.  We talked about why we make lists.  Many could relate to watching mom or dad make a grocery list.  A few even said their parents were like me.  I make a list and then leave it at home!  It was a cute and funny story.

Small Groups:  We practiced making the letter O on our wet, dry, try boards.

We did a number seek using copies of the recent Hy-Vee ads from the newspaper.  Mrs. Hoogheem had number flashcards.  The children were to try to find the same numbers on their ad sheets and circle the matching number.

Art:  We used empty tin cans to stamp white circles on to colored paper.  The children got to chose which the color of paper they were going to use.  After making circles all over the paper, they sprinkled glitter onto the paint.  We have lots and lots of sparkly circles.

Snacks:  The morning class had cheese and crackers brought by Maddie, and the afternoon had honey wheat pretzels brought by Joey.  Thank you!
