Play Ball!

Circle Time:  We opened the P tub today and found a pig, pickle, pizza, and paint set.  We added to the list with our own P words.  I counted 25 P words.  Tomorrow's word is Pajamas.  The children may wear pajamas to school tomorrow.  They may bring slippers in their backpacks.

Story:  In the story Hit the Ball Duck, Duck and his animal friends go to the ball field to play baseball.  All of the animals take their positions in the field with the exception of Frog.  Frog is told that he is too little to play baseball.  Duck hits the ball hard and it flies up into a tree.  How will they get the ball down?  How does Frog help them get the ball down?  Ask you rchild to tell you!

Group Time:  Anyone who has ever coached a preschool baseball team will tell you that learning to run the bases is just as difficult as learning how to hit the ball.  So, we put out the bases today and practiced running around the bases.  Later in our ball study, we will play baseball and kick ball.   We've got to take one thing at a time.

We also did a rhyming words activity today.   The children had to match rhyming word pictures.

Art:  We are making a Valentines windsock to decorate our snack area for Valentines Day.  Today, we placed a heart doily on a piece of construction paper and used pot scrubbers to stamp paint over it.  When we removed the doily, we had a pretty painted heart.  Then we sprinkled glitter on it to give it some shine.  After it dries, we will add tissue paper streamers to the bottom.

Snacks:  The morning class had Goldfish and juice brought by Maisie.  The afternoon class had bananas and milk brought by Hanley.  Thank you!
