Three Billy Goats Gruff

Circle Time:  We are back to learning about letters of the alphabet.  This week will be letter G.  We learned the G song that is in their backpack today.

Story:  I told the children the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff using flannel board pieces.  This is an old story about 3 goats who want to cross the bridge to get to the green grass on the other side.  However, under the bridge is a mean troll who wants to eat the goats for lunch.  Ask your child to tell you this story.

Group Time:   We took turns acting out the story using puppets and one of our benches for a bridge.  The children had a great time doing this.  I told them that I would leave the puppets in the story corner so that they could continue to act out this story during the week.  The afternoon class has already come up with some plans to make a bridge.

Art:  We made pictures using glitter glue.  The children had to glue a piece of aluminum foil to black construction paper.  Then they used many colors of glitter glue to decorate it as they desired.

Snacks:  The morning class had graham crackers and juice brought by Talal.  The afternoon class had Angry Bird grahams and juice brought by Carter.  Thank you!

As some of you heard, Mrs. Hoogheem was gone with jury duty (again!).  However, she called in the afternoon to say that the case had been dismissed and she will be back tomorrow.  Yahoo!
