Circle Time: We opened the container of C items today to help us start our list of
C words. We also began a discussion on the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. The children mentioned eating lots of food and getting together with family. We also talked about what it means to be thankful.
Story: We read the story One Little, Two Little, Three Little Pilgrims. The is a story set to a familiar children's song. We counted 10 Pilgrims, 10 Wampanoag, and 10 turkeys. At the end of the story, we talked about the first Thanksgiving.
Small Groups: We played a hide and seek turkey game called "who took the turkey from the turkey farm". The children took turns hiding the turkey and guessing who had taken it.
We also drew pictures of things for which we are thankful. We drew the pictures on paper feathers and added them to our classroom turkey on the bulletin board in the hallway.
Art: We created Indian corn using bubble wrap, paint, and construction paper corn cobs. The children spread the paint on the bubble wrap and pressed the cobs onto the bubbles to create a corn kernel
look.
Snacks: The morning class had Chex mix brought by Jayla. The afternoon class had cinnamon bread brought by Taylor. Thank you!
Our field trip is tomorrow. Please read the note in their backpacks.
