A Classroom Book

It was another great day weather wise, so we used the play yard for play time.  We took some books out as well as crayons and paper for the tables.  The sand, chalkboard, easel, trucks, twirling ribbons and other things were well used.

Circle Time:  We finished learning about the letter I by making a list of words that begin with I.  Typically we do this on Wednesdays, but with the party yesterday, we did not have enough time.

Story:  Friends at School is a book written by preschool children.  It tells about what they do at preschool.  I used this book to show the class that we could also write a book.

Group Time:  After our story, I told the children that we were going to write our own book.   It will be a book about the children playing hide and seek.  I had them think of where they would hide in their house if we were playing hide and seek.  I had magazine pictures of things that would be found in a house.  They were to select an item and use it to make a page about where they would hide.  For example, the page would say "who is hiding under the bed?  It's John!"  I will put all of the pages together, and we will take turns bringing it home to share.

Snacks:  The morning class had grahams and frosting brought by Dalton.  The afternoon class had cheese Chex mix brought by Rowan.  Thank you!
