Circle Time: I brought out Max and Zoey again today to talk about teasing. We haven't had a problem with teasing, but I want the children to be aware that teasing is not appropriate. I also want the children to know what to do if they have been teased. We came up with some solutions for Zoey and Max.
Story: Mouse Paint is the story of three mice who find three pots of paint. Each mouse dips themselves into a color of paint. They notice that if they dance into a different color of paint that the paint mixes and creates a new color. Ask your child to tell you what colors were created.
Small Groups: Following our story, one group activity was mixing colors using liquid watercolor, eye droppers, wax paper, and cotton balls. The children dropped the colored water onto the wax paper and pretended that the cotton balls were the mice in our story. They experimented with mixing colors.
We also got to look at our new workbooks. First the children looked through all of the pages. Then they turned to the first page to color little stars and fireflies. The objective was to learn to control the crayon by making little strokes.
Snacks: The morning class had peanut butter sandwich cookies brought by Sunny. The afternoon class had Goldfish brought by Haley. Thank you!
We learned a song today from our HWT workbook. The name of it is "There's a Dog in the School". "As long as there are dogs in the school, they'll have to learn the alphabet, too". A cute, fun song.
