What is an interrupting chicken?

Circle Time:  Zoey and Max taught us about waiting for a turn to talk.  Zoey had a story to tell me, but Max kept interrupting her.  We thought of things that Max could do to so that he wasn't interrupting Zoey.  Ask your child to tell you about how Max learned to wait a turn and how to raise his hand.

Story:  The Interrupting Chicken is a story about a young chicken who wants a bedtime story.  However, when her father begins to read a story, the young chicken gets excited and interrupts her father with a quick ending to the story.  Father chicken tries three times to read a story start to finish.  Finally, the young chicken makes up a story to tell her father, but he falls asleep.

Small Groups:  We had two group activities today.  One activity was play dough.  The other activity was an introduction into our Handwriting Without Tears wooden pieces.  We have big lines, little lines, big curves, and little curves.

Snack:  The morning class had yogurt shake-ups brought by Will and the afternoon class had cheese and cracker Handi-snacks brought by Alivia.  Thank you!

The children have been playing very nicely during play time.  Some of them had made new friends and some are still exploring.  Your child may be playing with someone, but hasn't learned their name yet.  This takes time.  As long as they are having a good time, names aren't important!
