Circle Time:  We are learning about the letter V this week.

Story:  We read The Three Billy Goats Fluff today.  This story is a version of The Three Billy Goats Gruff that we read back in January.  What's nice about this story is that the goats attempt to solve their problem of crossing the bridge by being kind.  The mother goat in the story knits booties for the goats so that their feet don't make noise crossing the bridge.  Because they are so quiet, the troll gets more sleep and isn't so grumpy.  We used this story to talk about being kind to someone who might be grumpy to you.  We told the children that it might not be easy, but being kind to someone will make them want to be kind to you in return.

Large Group:  We learned a new song today.  It's similar to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, but it has words in it about being special friends.  It's one of my favorite preschool songs.  Ask you child if he or she can remember some of the words and actions.

Small Group:  We played a game called Pop for Numbers.  The children select circle game pieces that look like gum balls.  Each gum ball has a number on it.  Then we spin a spinner to determine if the child with the biggest number or the child with the smallest number gets everyone else's gumballs.  This is a good game for number recognition and determining large and small numbers.

Art:  We are creating Thank You cards to give to those in the community who are helpful and kind.  During circle time, we made a list of people who are helpful to us such as the cleaning lady, the fix-it man, police officers, fire fighters, etc.  We will address and mail cards to these people and save a few to use as needed.

Snacks:  The morning class had Scooby snacks and juice brought by Kaley.  The afternoon class had Pebbles snacks and juice brought by Sierra.  Thank you!
