What's missing, Mat Man?

Circle time: I drew a picture of Mat Man on the chalkboard.  As the children closed their eyes, I erased part of him.  When they opened their eyes, they were to figure out what part was missing.  This activity prepared us for the workbook page that we are doing today.

Story Time:  A Busy Year is the story of two mice who become friends with a tree.  The story tells about the different seasons of the year and how the tree changes with the seasons.  See if your child can remember what happened in the summer that made the tree afraid.

Small Groups:  In our workbook, there was a picture of Mat Man complete with all of his body parts.  Next to it was a circle and a rectangle.  The children had to use their crayons to create a picture of Mat Man out of these shapes. 
We also played a gross motor game.  We have rubber mats that have movement suggestions on them.  The children took turns selecting a movement that the other children had to complete.

Snacks:  The morning class had Go-gurt and mini-blueberry muffins brought by Kaley.  The afternoon class had blueberry muffins brought by Sierra.  Thank you!
