We like Mat Man!

Circle Time:  We reviewed the Mat Man song that we learned yesterday and built him again using our HWT pieces.  The children enjoy this activity and asked to do it again several times.

Story:  Germs are Not for Sharing is a book that I like to read to help children to remember to use tissues and wash their hands after sneezing, coughing, and using the restroom.   If we can get the children to follow these guidelines, hopefully we won't have many absences from school.  After the story, I used green glitter to resemble germs.  I put some on my hands and showed the children how easily it can spread as I went about my daily activities.

Small Groups:  Yesterday, we started a study on trees. Today we made a list of things that we already know about trees.  Some of these things triggered questions for us that we will try to answer over the next few weeks.  After making our list, we went outside with paper bags and collected things that are a part of a tree.  Ask you child to tell you what they collected.

We also played Animal Action which is a movement activity in which the children have to imitate animal movements.

Snacks:  The morning class had grapes and Goldfish brought by Perry.   The afternoon class had blueberry muffins brought by Dax.  Thank you!
